Come and spend a day with us viewing kiwis in their truly natural habitat. From the comfort of a hide you will encounter kiwis at eye level and observe them feeding amongst the leaf litter. Kiwis can also be seen during the daytime at the Kiwi Norturnal House.
The Nocturnal House
In this uniquely modern nocturnal area we have two North Island Brown Kiwis from the Department of Conservation. Within this area you can watch the kiwis through mirrors.
It is a special temperature and humidity controlled area with special lighting which monitors the ideal conditions for our kiwis, guests will experience a cool moonlight night with kiwis.

Kiwis are active at night (nocturnal). This is when they come out to forage for food. In order for you to see the kiwi, their cycle has been changed so they sleep during our nighttime and come out to feed during nighttime conditions (our day).
